Burek with yogurt or the thin sour cream
This is an example of the quintessential Bosnian food, pita. Bosnian pita is a buttery, flaky pastry filled with either meat, spinach, cheese, potato, or squash. Those are the only kinds. Each flavor has its own name, the one pictured here being "burek"--the meat variety. The pitas are eaten cold, sometimes with yogurt or the thin sour cream called "pavlaka" as shown here. We weren’t huge fans of the burek, but I liked the spinach (zeljanica) and potato (krompirusa) pitas okay.
