AP European History Unit 7: 19th-Century Perspectives and Political Developments
The long nineteenth century combined Romantic and realist intellectual currents with substantial national unification (Italy 1859-1870, Germany 1864-1871) and the substantial second-wave imperial expansion (the Scramble for Africa, 1881-1914). Nine lessons trace Romantic, liberal, nationalist, and socialist ideologies through the 1848 revolutions, the unifications, the new imperialism, and the diplomatic origins of the First World War.
