Chvorost (Rum Cookies)

Ingredients

• •2 1/2 cups flour
• •1 cup milk
• •2 eggs
• •1/2 cup sugar
• •1 tablespoon rum
• •salt to taste
• •oil for frying

Directions

1. 1Make a dough from all the ingredients. Knead the dough very well. Then roll out very thinly and cut strips that are about 8 to10 cm long.
2. 2Make the cookies into different shapes: knots, plaits. Or make a little cut in the center lengthwise and pass one end through this cut several times. Heat oil in the pan. Plunge cookies in the oil, put in 5 to 6 pieces at a time. Fry until light brown. Chvorost is served with sugar or jam for tea.
