Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup of frozen peas
- 1/2 cup of beef broth
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Egg roll wrappers or pastry dough
Directions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is browned and crumbled.
- Add the diced potatoes, carrots, frozen peas, and beef broth to the pan, and stir well to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the mixture simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the pan from the heat, and let the mixture cool.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Once the mixture has cooled, spoon it onto egg roll wrappers or pastry dough, and fold them into triangles. Be sure to seal the edges well.
- Place the Pastel onto a greased baking sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the Pastel hot as a snack or appetizer.
