(Christmas Mushroom Soup)

Ingredients

• •2 sticks butter or margarine
• •4 pounds mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
• •2 heads of garlic, sliced
• •3 large onions, chopped finely
• •2 pounds good smoked sausage
• •Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1. 1Melt the butter in large soup pot, sauté garlic and onions, then add mushrooms.
2. 2When mushrooms are soft, add 4 quarts of water and sausage.
3. 3Let cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours until the sausages burst.
4. 4Served with rice or haluski. You can add sauerkraut too.
