Holubtsi --Meat Wrapped in Cabbage Leaves

Ingredients

• •1/2 to 3/4 cup onions, chopped and sautéed
• •oil or meat drippings
• •1 cup meat, ground, such as pork
• •4 cups cooked rice
• •1 teaspoon salt
• •1 large head cabbage
• •1 1/2 cups tomato juice
• •1/2 cup cream or sour cream

Directions

1. 1Saute chopped onions in meat drippings and add to cooked ground pork and rice. Sprinkle with salt.
2. 2Roll mixture up into a wilted cabbage leaf and place into pan.
3. 3Cover with tomato juice and cream or sour cream and meat drippings.
4. 4Cook until done.
5. 5Serve.
